Head of Corporate Volunteering at EDP

Rita is the Head of Corporate Volunteering at EDP. In the past 2 years, she has been working so that volunteering plays a strategic role in the company’s social investment, by contributing to the sustainable development of local communities and to the SDG.

She is passionate about helping people experience what an incredible impact they can have by sharing what they are and what they know in benefit of others.

With a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences; Rita began her professional path at the Portuguese Communications Foundation, and joined EDP 8 years ago. After having worked at the stakeholders management area, she accepted the challenge of taking volunteering at EDP to the next level. She has led the development of a new corporate volunteering strategy, focused on increasing social impact through the skills of EDP employees and its business.

Rita is actively engaged with her local community, being a scout since she was 7 years old. In the last 3 years she was involved in 2 international missions as a volunteer to provide first reception and support to refugees arriving in Greece and Sicily, and she has been leading a team at her community responsible for welcoming and integrating a refugee family.
